After 18 interesting years, experimental theater Die Pratze will close its doors next summer. Before that, there is still a chance to take in lots of strange theater and dance, beginning with the annual Shinjin 10 (“New Face” 10) series, which over two weeks introduces emerging performers mostly in their twenties. Among them are solo artists with considerable pedigree, such as Mosh, a veteran of Baby Q’s startling productions, as well as duos and trios. Despite the loss of Die Pratze, producer Shigeo Makabe will still present some of Japan’s most arresting avant-garde theater and dance at venue D-Soko in Nippori.
Die Pratze, Jan 6-22 (listing).
