If you’re one of those right-minded readers who are thoroughly sick of the currently rumbling 3D bandwagon, then please, as they say, look away now. Otherwise, prepare to get excited about the news from Sony that it’s about to flood the market with an armada of new gizmos ready for the extra dimension.

As well as a range of 3D Blu-ray decks starting at ¥90,000, there are several 3D TV sets that culminate in a 55in model costing a head-in-the-clouds ¥440,000. Look out for the new gear from November, and keep those goofy specs handy, OK?
