Over the last decade, Cal Lyall’s free monthly Test Tone has been a locus for the Tokyo experimental music scene, offering not just a regular fare of challenging sounds, but a sense of community. Lyall (pictured, top right) is now ready to try different approaches to avant-garde music events, but first winds things up with three nights of sonics highlighting many of the intriguing artists that have “tested” audiences over the years. Among them are L?K?O, Fallopian Disco Force, and cellist/power tools wielder Hiromichi Sakamoto, performing with Lyall himself on guitar.
