New from Canada’s horror machine is this mildly disturbing yet highly uneven tale of five guys in an isolated winter cabin trying to help a friend recover from a psychotic episode. They discover this weird, shimmering energy field in the woods that at first imparts a kind of euphoria. But it also has the effect of bringing psychological animosities to the surface. Soon the friends are turning on one another. And the energy field is elongating, into a… you got it. It’s all so vague that it’s difficult to understand what’s happening, or worse, to care.
