Another of Tokyo’s great Bubble Era vanity projects, the hulking Edo-Tokyo Museum, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The surprisingly fun museum is holding an exhibition of excellent Edo era art, collected by US businessman Robert Feinberg. Feinberg became smitten with Japanese art when he visited New York’s Metropolitan museum in the 1970s, and went on to amass a large collection including pieces from the schools of Rinpa, Maruyama and others, as well as ukiyo-e prints.
