Boiled down, Vogue magazine is a manifestation of Anna Wintour’s opinion. But pity the frustrated filmmaker of this fawning 2007 doc on the most powerful woman in fashion. Who knew that the inspiration for Meryl Streep’s character in The Devil Wears Prada, could be so deadly dull? She’s undoubtedly a good editor, but aside from permission to follow her around for a few months, he got nothing from her. Mostly she looks at pictures and says, “No.” Gripping stuff. Thank God for creative director Grace Coddington. But it’s all sooo year before last, and ultimately as superficial as the industry it portrays.
