Dinosaurs in skeletal form have lumbered through Japan’s arenas and convention halls several times in the last decade, but now the country gets a glimpse of the beasts in animatronic form. Based on the hit BBC series Walking with Dinosaurs, this new arena show features 20 remarkably lifelike dinosaurs—in reality, giant electronic puppets—created by a 60-strong team in Melbourne, Australia. The story of the rise and ultimate extinction of these “terrible lizards” is told by Huxley, an imaginary paleontologist, over a two-hour show. Narration is in Japanese.
