Comedienne (and screenwriter) Amy Schumer turns the tables on the stale rom-com formula and dynamites the genre’s clichés by casting herself as a lusty, commitment-phobic career woman whose problems begin when she meets a really nice guy. It’s basically an assemblage of slightly vulgar Amy Schumer skits, but no one does slightly vulgar as hilariously as Amy. The director is Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up), and talk about a marriage made in heaven! Also Lebron James in an inspired bit of stunt casting. Cracklingly funny, sweetly raunchy, and in spots poignant, but never predictable. (125 min)
