The Japanese penchant for making meals from a selection of small dishes has never been fully reconciled with the minute size of most apartment kitchens. Belle Maison’s Tamago Hitotsu de Tamagoyaki Furaipan (literally “Frying Pan That Makes Tamagoyaki With One Egg”) goes some way towards solving that issue. This compartmentalized skillet allows you to prepare all the pan-fried gubbins for your bento in one fell swoop—and yes, you’ll only need one egg! Belle Maison reports that it shifted 3,000 of these babies in their first month of sale, so they’re obviously onto a good thing here.
Tamago Hitotsu de Tamagoyaki Furaipan, ¥2,980. Available from kitchen goods stores and direct from www.bellemaison.jp
