“Are you…?” is a corporeal mime performance incorporating Japanese and English text, music and video. The piece takes the form of a collage that leaps between genres such as nouvelle vague and classicism to convey the myriad images we see reflected in one another. Performed by Tarinainanika, a duo made up of Kentaro Suyama and Tania Coke and set up in order to teach, create and perform the art of corporeal mime in Japan. Both members trained in London under Steven Wasson and Corinne Soum and are former members of their Theatre de l’Ange Fou theatre company.

After each performance, there will be a mini-workshop introducing the art of corporeal mime. Corporeal mime is a 20th century theatrical art form based on a precise technique of physical expression. It offers the actor a practical means of portraying the full range of human experience through the body.
