After earning a masters in international relations from Columbia University, Tatz Miki turned his attention to… ai zome, Japan’s traditional art of indigo dye. The grandson of a prime minister from Shikoku island, Miki will open up his Shibuya studio to the public for a week of dyeing workshops. Roll up your sleeves and try your hand at coloring hemp with indigo dyes from Tokushima. Experts in ai zome from Suga, Tokushima and Gunma will be on hand to impart the secrets of each region’s particular techniques.
