Hinako Saeki, 32, Meisa Kuroki, 21, and Rinko Kikuchi, 28, have completed work on their upcoming sci-fi movie Assault Girls. Appearing at an advance screening, the actresses said they had fun starring in a movie that featured strong heroines instead of men, for a change. Kuroki plays a gun-toting hunter who, with her sexy sidekicks, fights off a horde of sand beasts that have flourished in the aftermath of a nuclear war in the not-too-distant future.

Kuroki says she looks up to strong women like the trio in the film and hopes to become stronger herself. Kikuchi said it was a big change from her last film, the wine-drinking road movie Sideways. Assault Girls opens in cinemas on December 19.
