Balsamic Fig Tapenade

A multi-purpose spread of holiday cheer

Here’s a perfect little snack to liven up the dinner table this holiday season. Appetizers can be made using this tapenade and cream cheese, but it also goes really well with smoked ham, steak, and pork chops. Topping your ice cream with a spoonful of this tapenade would be a great idea, too. Enjoy this harmonious mix of ingredients!


  • 5-6 semi-dried figs
  • 1 tsp whole black pepper
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp red wine
  • 1 pinch salt


  1. Combine all ingredients except black pepper.
  2. Chop finely until figs become a rough paste.
  3. Add black pepper and chop roughly.
  4. Spread on sliced bread or crackers with cream cheese.
