J-pop fanatics now have a new source for information on their favorite bands and idols. Leading music website Barks has launched an English edition with the latest updates on the successes and foibles of the likes of Buck Tick, Flumpool and the inevitable AKB48. Aiming for maximum international impact, Barks made the announcement at a “J-rock Matters presented by Barks” event at the Music Matters Asian music biz conference in Singapore. The level of English on its website is risible, but the sheer depth of information makes Barks’ English edition a go-to source for those without top Japanese chops.
