With the goal of “promoting friendship between Scottish and Japanese people and improving knowledge and understanding of Scottish traditions and culture,” the St. Andrew Ball is a black-tie affair that combines good food, good fun and charity. This year’s event, presented by The St. Andrew Society of Yokohama & Tokyo and supported by banking giant HSBC, takes place at the swish Conrad Tokyo hotel. Following a cocktail reception, guests will enjoy a gourmet Scottish-themed dinner with fine wines, whiskies and specialty beers from the award-winning Brewdog Society. Then it’s on to live music and dancing until the wee hours of the morning. A portion of the proceeds from the auction and raffle will be used to support St. Andrew Society charities, which include the Scottish Charity Foundation and Special Olympics Nippon.
