The Oak Door (6F Grand Hyatt Tokyo, 6-10-3 Roppongi, Minato-ku; Tel: 03-4333-8784) has busted out a big new cut of beef for autumn. The Tomahawk is whopping 1.6kg rib eye on-the-bone steak chargrilled over oak wood and intended for sharing among four people (or two monstrous eaters). Paired with some simple but tasty vegetables, such as mashed potatoes, steamed carrots—with a special ingredient—and their popular yardstick-sized asparagus (with perhaps a nice Shiraz from their cave du vin), this brontosaurus-sized cut should keep even the most primitive expense-account carnivores sated.
