Broadway dance extravaganza Burn the Floor returns to Japan for a brief run at the spanking new Orb theater in Shibuya. Australian Jason Gilkison, a world champion dancer who has also appeared on the hit television series So You Think You Can Dance, created the show in 1999. Celebrating ballroom dancing—or DanceSport as it’s known in its competitive form—the production traces the history of 20th-century dance from foxtrot and tango to samba and jive. Burn the Floor is participatory, so come ready to strut your stuff alongside Japan’s ballroom-dance fanatics.
