To “jib” means to ride a snowboard on street ledges and handrails, and it turns out to be pretty exciting to watch. Thousands came out to see world-class jibbers compete in last year’s Burton Rail Days contest, and this year’s event looks to be even more packed. Champion riders like American Ethan Deiss and Iceland’s Halldor Helgason will pit their skills against locals including Yuma Abe on a 9m slope and rail built specially for the occasion. A Burton Kids Riglet Park with actual snow will also be on hand to allow the rugrat set to try their hand at the sport.
