Industrial decor meets French coffee in this large, open space in the center of Omotesando. On April 5, Parisian craft roaster Café Coutume chose Aoyama to host its first satellite branch, and in celebration, on the fifth of every month it offers a €1 special (¥150 in practice) for a cup of coffee made from its Alpha Dominche “Steampunk” coffee brewers, which give the barista and customer alike a clear view of the brewing process. The company is even in the process of setting up a local roasting facility, but will source its beans from Paris until it’s up and running.
