The Odakyu Hotel Century Southern Tower (2-2-1 Yoyogi, Shibuya-ku; www.southerntower.co.jp) is helping Tokyoites battle the summer heat with a quartet of icy mixed drinks. The Summer Cocktail Fair at the hotel’s South Court bar includes the Summer Dream (grapefruit liqueur with lemon and lime peel), meant to call to mind “a shooting star of the summer night” (¥1,155; pictured); the tropical Burning Island, with guava liqueur, passion fruit liqueur and tomato juice (¥1,270); the sweet L’azool Summer, with grapefruit liqueur, vodka, Cointreau and fresh lemon juice (¥1,270); and the one we’ll be ordering, the Creamy Guavana, a smoothie made with guava liqueur, pineapple juice, fresh orange juice and fresh cream (¥1,501). All the cocktails are available through August 31.
