The first issue of Tokyo Classified came out February 26, 1994 offering expats four whole photo-copied English-language pages of listings for buying and selling used items or meeting up with like-minded individuals in the city. By April, 2001 we featured arts, music, and food and drink stories and changed our name to Metropolis. Now that we’re old enough to drink, let’s celebrate 20 years of bringing the foreign community together.
