Jon Favreau crossbreeds two movie varieties and comes up with a hybrid that may surprise fans of both sci-fi and westerns. Or not. An outlaw (Daniel Craig) wakes up in the desert unable to remember who he is, with this strange bracelet on his wrist. In town, he locks horns with the local strongman, played by Harrison Ford in full crank mode, but then these nasty airborne thingies attack and they must join forces, along with some Native Americans, to save the planet, etc. This concept-over-content is fun for a while, but after the initial wonder wears off, it settles into some serious ordinariness.
