The comically named Doggy’s Diner (3-10-13 Kita-Aoyama, Minato-ku; nearest stn: Omotesando) purports to offer true-blue American diner fare—with a healthy twist. Yet the menu offers up some things about as far removed from US soil as Guantanamo. Still, a demi-glace sauce that takes a full five weeks to produce has got to be worth trying, as are their completely made-from-scratch sausages. But what most gets us excited is their extraordinary creation, the “Macaron Burger” (¥500)—so special it has its own website. It consists of four mini-burgers each served with its own spoonful of sauce.
