Buy a new Nissan Fuga later this fall, and you may get more than you bargained for in the shape of a copilot that keeps an eye on your driving.
The “navigation-cooperative intelligent pedal” system uses a combination of black magic, GPS and funky engineering to work out the safe speed at each corner, and sounds a warning if the car is moving too fast. Should an oh-so-fallible driver keep the pedal to the metal in spite of this friendly guidance, the Fuga’s onboard computer will take over and actually push the accelerator pedal up against their foot to ease off the gas. Who ever heard of road rage anyway?
