In the heart of Tokyo, ARK HILLS transforms into a festive haven with sustainability as its main focus. Since 2020, they’ve been using thinned wood for unique Christmas illuminations that champion sustainability. This year, they’re all about “utsukushimi” emphasizing love for nature and its importance to our world.

But it’s more than just lights; there will be workshops that let you create ornaments from thinned wood, and you’ll find a vibrant “Christmas Marche” for holiday shopping where you can find unusual liquor and sweets that enhance the holiday season. In addition to this, you can indulge in exclusive gourmet options at 14 cafes and restaurants, as well as Christmas muffins sold by a special vendor.

Wood ornament-making workshop

A “wood education workshop” is held every Saturday (some Sundays).
By interacting with trees and feeling close to the forest while in the city, we provide an opportunity for parents and children to think about their connection to the forest. Make an ornament by adding an illustration to a log using a stencil. One piece will be used for the installation, and the other piece will be available for you to take home.
This is an initiative that aims to create opportunities for continued involvement with forests. Click here to reserve a spot.
