Oct 03, 2026 at 10:00am ~ Dec 20, 2026 at 6:00pm

Marimekko: Art of Printmaking explores the Finnish design house’s distinctive approach to pattern and print. The exhibition brings together around 100 works spanning Marimekko’s history, including textiles, clothing, sketches, and archival materials. It traces how the brand’s bold patterns developed from the 1950s onward and highlights the designers behind some of its best-known prints.

The exhibition also looks at how Marimekko’s designs were created, from early sketches to finished textiles and clothing. Alongside well-known patterns, visitors can see original drawings and other materials showing the work that went into producing them. Held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum, the exhibition looks at Marimekko’s development over the decades and its impact on fashion and textile design.
