Seed Planting: Cultivating Culture, Planting the Future

Jul 12, 2026 at 4:30pm ~ Jul 12, 2026 at 6:00pm

MoN Farm is a vegetable garden on the MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives Rooftop, part of a new initiative dedicated to collecting and passing on practices for future generations. The focus isn’t just on growing plants, but on preserving the knowledge and skills behind it—run as a “living archive” connecting people and nature over the long term.

The project brings together a few collaborators. SynecO Inc. supports the development of a wider “extended ecosystem,” while Mitosaya Herb Garden Distillery, known for its work on the relationship between plants and people, is also involved. On the community side, TAKANAWA HOP WAY brings in local businesses, schools, and residents near Takanawa Gateway Station to grow hops together.

Together, these efforts turn a corner of Takanawa into a space for testing out how people and nature can coexist in the city.
