Apparently the producers of that Underworld noise thought the ludicrous idea that Dr. Frankenstein’s monster, still living in the Modern Age, would be a great basis for a superhero story. But instead of crafting a thoughtful film about a lost soul in a strange land, they plunge him into a secret war between demons and gargoyles that could spell the end of humanity, yada yada. They left out the brains. Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy and Miranda Otto do what they can to raise the level of this overwrought lineup of fake battle scenes, though I suspect their main challenge was to keep a straight face.
