Punk’d host Dax Shepard uses his own cars, his own girlfriend (Kristen Bell) and his own directing and acting skills to create this fun little sleeper of a car-chase comedy. A guy in witness protection breaks cover to drive his girlfriend (wryly a PhD in non-violent conflict resolution) to LA to interview for her dream job, despite the fact that the very angry bank robbers he’s hiding from (led by Bradley Cooper in blond dreads) are looking for him there. Not great cinema, but it never takes itself too seriously and has a lot of personality and genuine heart. I had fun. Excellent date movie.
