Long-running minimal techno event Real Grooves opens the year with something old, something new. American multi-instrumentalist and techno producer John Tejada (pictured) has been a regular fixture, both as a DJ and on live drums, with guitarist Takeshi Nishimoto. Joining him this time is French producer Olivier Mateu, a.k.a. Rodriguez Jr. One of the lynchpins of techno stalwart Laurent Garnier’s F-Communications label, Mateu will be stoking the crowd at Eleven with a live set that takes its pointers from minimal but imparts a warmth and groove to the genre that it often lacks.
