Avant-garde dance-theater group Kakuya Ohashi and Dancers presents a new work based on the science-fiction novel Les Grand Vacances by Hirotaka Tobi. The book is the first installment in Tobi’s Angels of the Derelict Garden series, which are set in a sort of virtual resort in a virtual space where virtual people are waiting in vain for the coming of visitors. Ohashi has been consistently brilliant in merging dance and video, becoming in recent years one of the leading lights of contemporary Japanese performing arts. Tobi will join the company for a post-performance talk after the July 7 engagement.
