Young, relentlessly cheerful producer (Rachel McAdams) hires out-to-pasture veteran newsman Harrison Ford to co-anchor (with Diane Keaton) a fourth-rated morning TV show. But his disdain for senseless banter is evident, and ratings continue to drop. Then Rachel starts to chip away at his irascibility and gets creative. Good chemistry among the cast, and it doesn’t insult your intelligence. Kind of Broadcast News “lite,” this look behind the scenes of TV journalism as it exists today is an entertaining sit and an infectious character-based comedy that manages to make a few serious points along the way.
