People in Japan have been using kairo portable body warmers for centuries to brave the winter cold, but it’s taken a while for someone to come up with a viable summer equivalent. The Ice Ruck does, well, exactly what you’d expect something with a name like that to do. This compact backpack, available in three sizes and a variety of colors, conceals a couple of reusable ice packs that should keep you cool for three or four hours at a time. The mesh fabric also ensures that your clothes won’t end up getting soaked while you’re wearing it. We think M-Craft might be overegging things when they trumpet the “fashionable design,” but hey, who are we to judge?

Ice Ruck, ¥4,800. Available at branches of Tokyu Hands.
