In the wake of Fuji Rock and Summer Sonic, Punkafoolic brings together 35 bands on the multiple stages of Shibuya’s O-East complex. Overseas acts include America’s Mad Caddies, whose ska-infused old school punk can be heard on their latest, Keep It Going, and Israel’s Useless ID, whose driving pop-punk has served them well in repeated Japan tours. Local punkers include veterans Akihiro Namba (pictured), formerly of melocore champs Hi-Standard, and battle-scarred warhorse the Abnormals.
