Who says Roppongi nightlife is all about African touts and lap dances? From sunset on March 23 to sunrise on March 24 the Roppongi art triangle of Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and the National Art Center Tokyo becomes a giant, all-night street fair of highbrow art. Participants can take in exhibitions at participating museums (including the Makoto Aida show at the Mori Art Gallery) as well as works specially conceived by a slew of artists under the direction of conceptual artist Katsuhiko Hibino. These range from sound experimentalists Open Reel Ensemble to dance group Off-Nibroll on the theme, “Trip: Witness today’s transformation into tomorrow.”
