To whom do famous artists turn when they want their own portrait shot? At the start of his career New York lensman Sebastian Piras was encouraged by Andy Warhol to shoot the stars. This led to his landmark series “Artists Exposed,” featuring the likes of Dennis Hopper, Roy Liechtenstein and Warhol himself. “Amerikana Diary” at the tiny Hiromart Gallery exhibits monochrome images of iconic figures as well as more recent color shots of distinctively American landscapes.
Hiromart Gallery, until Mar 4 (listing).
