The crucial Shibuya gyaru demographic has its own festival. Each year Shibukaru assembles scores of artists, fashion designers, musicians and other creative young women for a week of exhibitions and performances. The event centers around the trendy Parco department store and associated Quattro concert hall and includes outdoor events at on the nearby Koen dori and Spainzaka shopping streets. Participants this year range from controversial art collective Chim Pom to fashion icon Misha Janette to outrageous electro performance group Trippple Nippples.
