Experience a taste of some of Japan’s biggest festivals—all at the same time. The Tokyo Furusato Matsuri (Tokyo Hometown Festival) offers a smorgasbord of regional Japanese cultures all gathered under the capacious roof of Tokyo Dome. Among the attractions are a 23-meter-tall nebuta (lantern float) from Aomori Prefecture and a performance by Taiko-Labo, a young collective of taiko-drum masters. In addition to demonstrations of singing, dancing and music associated with regional festivals, the event also offers the chance to satisfy your appetite with local delicacies from Japan’s 47 prefectures.
