North Indian classical dancer Sanjukta Sinha arrives in Tokyo for a special tenth edition of the ongoing series Tokyo Garana. Sinha is a virtuoso in the Kathak style, known for sparkling footwork and whirling body movement. She performs in Aoyama at the invitation of Atsuko Maeda, Japan’s leading exponent of Kathak, and a dancer who herself studied in India on a government scholarship. Accompanying them will be a live band including Taro Terahara on the bansuri, Baku Hirakawa on the sarod and Kazuto Sashihara on the tabla.
