Contemporary dance outfit Makotocluv presents a new piece that translates roughly to “Three-Dimensional Tokyo Picture Book.” Surrounded by the atmospheric dioramas of the gargantuan Edo-Tokyo, Makotocluv will evoke the popular music and character heroes of the fast-growth Showa Era, a time for which Japan continues to wax nostalgic. The site-specific creation will feature seven dancers and a three-piece band including an accordionist, saxophonist and tuba player. Photo by 427FOTO.
