Japan’s top orchestra (according to Ongaku no Tomo magazine) is renowned for its interpretations of Brahms, Schumann and Bruckner. But under the baton of Hubert Soudant, the TSO is also attempting to take classical music to a new generation. With the slogan “Orchestra from Age 0,” an upcoming kids program features a collaboration with the Zoorasian Brass ensemble. The performance will range from traditional Japanese children’s songs to popular selections by composers like Tchaikovsky. Kids will have the opportunity to sing along and even try their hand at conducting, while mom and dad will appreciate the diaper changing rooms for the very youngest classical music connoisseurs.
