On Sunday, the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Suzuka was threatened by Typhoon 18 (Phanfone). Despite dangerous conditions, the event went ahead, resulting in a major crash between French driver Jules Bianchi and a recovery vehicle helping another racer, Sauber’s Adrian Sutil. Bianchi was rushed to hospital where he underwent surgery. As of Tuesday, October 7, Bianchi is listed in critical but stable condition.
