A trove of collages of lingerie models and lady’s underwear used for self-portraits were found in the home of a deceased sexagenarian man, when his son U was organizing his belongings last year. Not knowing what to do with the astounding cache of unusual mementos, U passed them on to a friend of his father, doll-fetish photographer Yoshitaka Hyodo. Hyodo will hold an exhibition at Dokkin Jikken Shitsu, a brand-new gallery inside Gunkan Building launched by multi-talented drag queen Maru-Yacco. A selection of the closeted oyaji’s lifelong clandestine work will see light for the first time and some will even be given away on the last day of the exhibition.
Dokkin Jikken Shitsu, Mar 30-Apr 8. Entry by appointment only: 080-4688-1091 (listing).
