Non-profit organization the United Service Organizations gives folks a chance to get a closer look at the work of the U.S. military in Japan in its 5th Annual Service Salute Gala. The event is a black-tie affair at the New Sanno Hotel in Hiroo and will honor outstanding service members from the U.S. Armed Forces and Japanese Self-Defense Forces, as well as present entertainment in the form of a blast from the past with impersonators including “The Rat Pack” and “Marilyn Monroe.” Last year’s fundraiser hosted nearly 250 guests and offered an opportunity to mingle with Americans and experience a bit of American culture.
