Van Gogh’s canvasses have been exhibited numerous times in Japan, but never before has his tale been told so thoroughly. With help from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, “Van Gogh: The Adventure of Becoming an Artist” traces the genesis of his inimitable style. Thirty-six oil paintings and 32 prints and drawings are on display, as well as works by teachers and peers, like Monet, who helped shape his approach.
