Spring—and art fairs—are in the air. Presented by art promotion team and rental gallery Artmania Café in Yokohama, Yokohama Art Department is a new edition to Kanto’s growing numbers of art fairs. Compared to Art Fair Tokyo and the like, YAD is a decidedly underground affair, with over 30 artists from Japan and abroad exhibiting works ranging from painting to fashion, sculpture and illustrations. A stained glass workshop and other learning opportunities should make it a fun afternoon for those in Yokohama.
