Speaking of Kyoto’s favorite son, there’s a rumor that the next Nintendo DS will spring Mario and co. on us in three dimensions through a new kind of LCD screen unveiled recently by Sharp.
Sharp’s contribution to the current 3D fad comes in the form of a 3.4-inch display that seems to be putting style well ahead of substance, but at least it differs in that it works without users having to wear special specs to see the, ahem, dull blurriness.
While there’s been no confirmation that the screen will appear in the putatively named Nintendo 3DS, it’s a fairly safe bet that the Sharp-Nintendo axis will be getting all pointy on us about a year hence.
