For those not keen on parching their throat out with the all-too-dry conbini staples [see left], there is a growing number of bars where cultured tongues can lap up craft beer, or jibiru. The Beer in Japan website (http://beerinjapan.com) has a pretty comprehensive list of beer bars around Tokyo, Yokohama, and even other places in Japan and Asia. Each entry has a little blog-like description, with photos and details on varieties of beer, happy hours, and other salient factoids. You can also download the Beer In Japan smartphone app for ¥170. While it doesn’t have all the bars listed on the site, it does have discount coupons for a number of venues, and is available with no internet connection.
Metropolis has visited a few of the craft beers around town, check out our reviews at the following links.
