The bistro Frenchna (1F, 2-16-1 Konan, Minato-ku. Nearest stn: Shinagawa; 03-6717-6571) quietly opened at Shinagawa’s East One Tower in mid-August, but they are already recognized as having one of the cheapest wine lists in town. Bottles of red and white can be ordered for just ¥1,029 a pop (plus a ¥525 bottle charge per person for the first bottle only) and sparkling starts from ¥1,365. It’s a pretty fair deal once you get to your second or third round. The plentiful vino pairs with the equally frugal white-wine steamed clams and mussels (¥1,029 small, ¥1,554 regular), buffalo mozzarella and tomato gazpacho (¥819) and farm fresh veggies. The food on offer is always matched to the wine selection, so you’ll always find the perfect fit. Sante!
Open for lunch (11am-2pm) and dinner (4-11:30pm) Mon-Fri, dinner only Sat-Sun.
