After a successful summer stint as a temporary beer garden in Ark Hills, Yona Yona Beer Kitchen is has just moved into a permanent site in Akasaka (2F Tokyu Plaza Akasaka, 2-14-3 Nagatacho, Chiyoda-ku. Nearest stn: Akasakamitsuke). The eponymous ale put Japanese craft beer on the international map when it won the Belgian Monde Selection gold medal in 2011. Now the Karuizawa-based brewery is continuing its mission to encourage Japanese beer drinkers to explore outside of the “big four” with its new Tokyo location. On tap offerings will include the signature ale as well as Tokyo Black porter, Aooni Indian Pale Ale and rotating selections designed to fit the season. Menu choices including roast chicken, sausages and bagna càuda are available to complement what’s on tap.
